Rick Crouley, president and owner of this company moved with his family from Minnesota to California in 1985. His early years were spent learning and working in the vinyl window business in Minnesota, but he gradually moved into new home construction.
In California, he recognized that the vinyl window industry was just in its infancy. The severe weather that stimulated the business of vinyl windows in Minnesota did not exist here, but the problems of hot weather were begging for solutions. In 1983 he founded 'SUREGUARD VINYL WINDOWS'. Energy costs were beginning to be an issue and metal windows, in particular, were extremely inefficient because of their conductivity and the solar heat gain in all single pane windows made most homes virtual hot houses.
Drawing on his earlier experience, he sought out the best components, vinyl, glass and sealing material that were available. He then applied his expertise to fabricate a state of the art window that was efficient, attractive and not price prohibitive. Next, he collected a workforce and personally trained them in the methods of construction that he knew to be best.
From the SUREGUARD beginning in Santa Ana, he has continued, to upgrade and utilize newer materials while employing the latest techniques of window making technology. His goal is not to be the biggest, but as near to the best as anyone in the market.
His diligence has resulted in SUREGUARD receiving an AAA rating with Better Business Bureau; recognition by the prestigious California League of Homeowners and many other organizations that rate the window industry.
The high level of satisfaction demonstrated by buyers of SUREGUARD windows is "my most precious reward" says Rick. "I just want people to be pleased with their selection of my new windows for their homes … I want them to be happy!"
